Issues with live webcast on CentOS 7 and 8

If you experience a problem (loading spinner, hlserror2 javascript error) during a live webcast and you are on CentOS (7 or 8), it may be that you are missing the appropriate codec to read the stream. In this case please follow these guidelines:

  • On CentOS8:

dnf -y install https://download.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/epel-release-latest-8.noarch.rpm

dnf localinstall --nogpgcheck https://download1.rpmfusion.org/free/el/rpmfusion-free-release-8.noarch.rpm
dnf install --nogpgcheck https://download1.rpmfusion.org/nonfree/el/rpmfusion-nonfree-release-8.noarch.rpm
dnf install http://rpmfind.net/linux/epel/7/x86_64/Packages/s/SDL2-2.0.10-1.el7.x86_64.rpm

dnf install ffmpeg

  • On CentOS 7:

yum -y install http://li.nux.ro/download/nux/dextop/el7/x86_64/nux-dextop-release-0-5.el7.nux.noarch.rpm

yum install vlc smplayer ffmpeg HandBrake-{gui,cli}

yum install libdvdcss gstreamer{,1}-plugins-ugly gstreamer-plugins-bad-nonfree gstreamer1-plugins-bad-freeworld
